tragedy

the death toll of the tsunami is 25 times that of the WTC tragedy. while it is probably inappropriate to compare tragedies as the circumstances were totally different, i think this gives some perspective. you can donate any number of places, including donating to the red cross through amazon.

It's just beyond human understanding and how to take the level of a disaster like that and comprehend it - well it's impossible. And I agree- I think everyone should give a dollar or pounds to one of the charities that are asking for help.

It's the least we can do.

Thanks for pointing this out to us :-)

I'm glad to see the world reach out with compassion to the affected areas.

I was watching CNN yesterday morning and a commentator was reading e-mails from viewers regarding US aid to the area. A surprising (to me, at least) number of viewers were against sending any aid. The sadness that this brought is still with me...

I have already donated what I can afford to the Red Cross. It is terrible. I can definitely sympathize with those people, having lost everything in a fire.
