this past weekend, i went to see richard thompson at stuart's opera house in nelsonville, ohio. (a big up to david, thrhough whose blog i found out about the show). it was one of the best concerts i've ever attended. thompson is a great songwriter, singer and last, but certainly not least, guitarist - with a large and impressive body of work going back to the 60's. stuart's opera house is a great venue - close to ohio u, it had a very progressive, college town feel - out in the middle of the country. the drive down was beautiful - wish i wasn't driving so i could have snapped some photos of the flora and fauna...given there were no hotel rooms cause of ou's graduation - i camped out. i'm not a very experienced camper - but it went fine - was a bit chilly....
no photos were allowed in the concert, which at first bugged me, but ultimately, it might have been good as it allowed me to focus on the music...however, in order to provide complete coverage of the show, in the tradition of the court artist, here is an artist's rendering of the show...
the opening act, natalia zukerman, was very good as well - an unenviable task - opening for such a strong performer - and she shined...you should check her out...i think i passed her in the hall before the concert, but i did not recognize her - she said hi when we made eye contact
all in all, a great concert...
one downside - a cousin of mine passed away - i was able to stop by on the way home from nelsonville for her funeral...
later in the evening, after i got home, some friends stopped by - we had a nice fire going and a great time...
all in all a busy, but good weekend...
in other news, i am going to nyc in 2 weeks for my bros birthday...

Love the "courtroom artist" rendering! That'll teach 'em for saying no cameras! Sounds like you had a great time. I looked at your bro's site - how cool that he did an ep of L&O:CI. I just recently got hooked on the reruns so I will have to look for that episode. If I'm reading the NBC listings correctly, the name of it is "Collective" - does that sound right to you?
yes, that's the episode...
he's the brother of a murder victim - - they question for info... he's on in the first 10 minutes...
